Soccer Game Preview: Westlake vs. Edgemont

Westlake is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Saturday. They will take on the Edgemont Panthers at 3:00 p.m.

Westlake is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Rye back in September. The Wildcats lost 5-2 to the Garnets. Westlake have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Meanwhile, Edgemont waltzed into their match on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. Everything went their way against Ardsley as they made off with a 5-1 win. The result was nothing new for Edgemont, who have now won seven matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Ardsley with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Luke Tonaj (2), William Maister, Leo Schwarcz, and Luca Geiger.

Westlake now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Edgemont, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.

Westlake skirted past Edgemont 1-0 in their previous meeting back in September of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
