Basketball Game Preview: Cambridge Bobcats vs. Beaver Local Beavers

The Cambridge Bobcats will take on the Beaver Local Beavers at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, everything went Cambridge's way against Barnesville as Cambridge made off with a 63-43 win. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Beaver Local had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 69-62 victory over the Potters. The win was all the more spectacular given the Beavers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while the Potters are ranked 109th).

Beaver Local is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points per game. As for Cambridge, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.

Everything came up roses for Cambridge against Beaver Local when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the squad secured an 83-46 win. Will Cambridge repeat their success, or does Beaver Local have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
