Baseball Recap: Columbia Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Columbia won the last time they faced Forest and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Columbia Wildcats were the clear victor by a 15-1 margin over the Forest Bearcats. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won five contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Collin Haney was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Brayden Thornhill was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. MT Breland was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Columbia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Columbia's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Forest, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
