Basketball Game Preview: Belleville East Lancers vs. Belleville West Maroons

Belleville East and Belleville West are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Belleville East Lancers and the Belleville West Maroons will meet in a classic East v. West matchup at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Belleville East's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Belleville West has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.

Belleville East will head into Thursday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 43) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged Edwardsville out 49-47.

Meanwhile, Belleville West had to suffer through a 49-14 loss at the hands of Collinsville.

Belleville East has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Belleville West, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16.

Everything came up roses for Belleville East against Belleville West when the teams last played back in January, as the squad secured an 83-28 win. Will Belleville East repeat their success, or does Belleville West have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
