Van had lost six straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 1-19 to make it seven. They lost 20-12 to the WestSide Renegades. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Renegades this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-4 on April 15th.
Cade Price put in work no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. Price was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Easton Moore made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Parker Moore was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
As for WestSide, their win bumped their record up to 7-10. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On WestSide's side, they got a great performance from Isaiah Clay as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over 6.2 innings pitched.
At the plate, Braxton Waldron was incredible, getting on base in six of his seven plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kadien Vance, who got on base in five of his seven plate appearances with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Looking ahead, Van will welcome Mount View at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for WestSide, they will head out to take on Wyoming East at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Renegades' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
