Basketball Recap: River Mill Takes a Loss

River Mill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 61-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Research Triangle Raptors. The Jaguars were up 51-37 in the third quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

When it comes to explaining why River Mill lost, don't look at Jackson Osborne. Despite the final result, he posted 23 points. Osborne's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jorden Honeycutt, who earned 13 points.

River Mill's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Research Triangle, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7.

River Mill has already played their next match, a 70-39 loss against Oxford Prep on the 10th. As for Research Triangle, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 57-54 win against Roxboro Community on the 11th.
