Basketball Recap: Hamilton Comes Up Short

Hamilton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 59-27 loss at the hands of the Sycamore Aviators. While losing is never fun, the Big Blue can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 409th, while the Aviators are ranked 139th).

Sycamore found their leader in freshman Emma Christerson, who went 8 of 11 from beyond the arc on her way to 29 points. Brooke Burgess was another key player, going 6 for 9 en route to 13 points and six rebounds.

Hamilton's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Sycamore, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hamilton will welcome Oak Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sycamore has already played their next matchup (against Colerain), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
