Soccer Recap: Tough Loss for Kewanee

If Kewanee was riding high off their 4-0 takedown of DePue/Hall on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Boilermakers lost 3-0 to the Mendota Trojans on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Kewanee can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 358th, while Mendota are ranked 101st).

Kewanee has now lost six of their last eight games on the road. That's taken a bite out of their 7-9 record this season. As for Mendota, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4.

Kewanee has already played their next match, a 4-3 loss against Oregon on the 3rd. As for Mendota, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next game, a 1-1 draw against Streator/Woodland on the 5th.
