Evangelical Christian's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Barron Collier Cougars as they made off with an 8-2 win. Considering the Sentinels have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Hayden Billie spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Payton Billie and Keaunna Green did most of the damage at the plate: Payton went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double, while Green scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Anayeli Guzman was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Evangelical Christian's victory bumped their record up to 18-3. As for Barron Collier, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Evangelical Christian is on the road again on Saturday to play Naples at 1:00 p.m. As for Barron Collier, they will square off against Palmetto Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
