It was a good run, but Washington-Liberty unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 5-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Yorktown Patriots. Washington-Liberty were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Yorktown apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Washington-Liberty's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-2. As for Yorktown, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3.

Looking ahead, Washington-Liberty will challenge Alexandria City at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Yorktown, they will take on McLean at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
