Basketball Recap: St. Francis Episcopal Finds Playoff Glory Versus Lubbock Christian

St. Francis Episcopal had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They enjoyed a cozy 55-36 victory over the Lubbock Christian Eagles on Saturday. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Eagles are ranked 205th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Nigel Walls, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards. What's more, he racked up seven blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of O'Marion Harvey, who posted nine points along with seven rebounds and six assists.

St. Francis Episcopal smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

St. Francis Episcopal pushed their record up to 30-8 with the win, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.5 points over those games. As for Lubbock Christian, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 27-7.
