Softball Recap: Lakin Takes a Loss

If Lakin was riding high fresh off their 12-2 takedown of Hugoton on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Broncs came up short against the Cimarron Bluejays on Monday, falling 11-4. The loss continues a trend for the Broncs in their meetings with the Bluejays: they've now lost nine in a row.

Lakin saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sara Martinez, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Lakin's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Cimarron, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lakin beat the Bluejays by a score of 6-5 later that day.
