Volleyball Game Preview: Bishop Neumann Cavaliers vs. Guardian Angels Central Catholic Bluejays

The Bishop Neumann Cavaliers will be playing at home against the Guardian Angels Central Catholic Bluejays at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Bishop Neumann is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Elkhorn North just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Monday. They lost 3-0 to the Wolves. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Cavaliers have suffered since November 2, 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-20, 25-20.

Guardian Angels Central Catholic had won 12 straight games and Riley Wegner did her part to make it 13 on Thursday. The Bluejays blew past Ponca 3-0 for which the team can thank Wegner, who had 28 digs. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 11 digs per game.

The win didn't come easy: Ponca scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-18, 25-18.

Guardian Angels Central Catholic found their leader in freshman Wegner, who had 28 digs. Emma Cohee has been hot for a while, having also posted 20 or more assists the last 21 times she's played.

Bishop Neumann's defeat dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Guardian Angels Central Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 14-1.
