Baseball Recap: Hopewell Valley Central Triumphs

After losing to Bordentown the last time they met, Hopewell Valley Central decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Scotties 14-12. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Hopewell Valley Central got a massive performance out of Chase Garrow, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave Garrow a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin McCaffery, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.

Hopewell Valley Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .578. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Hopewell Valley Central now has a winning record of 9-8-1. As for Bordentown, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hopewell Valley Central will take on Warren Hills Regional at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bordentown, they will head out to challenge Pennington at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
