Softball Recap: Notre Dame-Green Pond Triumphs

Notre Dame-Green Pond won the last time they faced Bangor and things went their way on Monday too. The Crusaders walked away with a 7-4 win over the Slaters. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Crusaders.

Emily Szczepanski spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on 13 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Addison Ryan was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Lilly, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Notre Dame-Green Pond kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Notre Dame-Green Pond's victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Bangor, they dropped their record down to 8-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Notre Dame-Green Pond will venture away from home to take on Palisades at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bangor, they will host Pocono Mountain East at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
