Basketball Game Preview: Itawamba Agricultural Indians vs. Wheeler Eagles

The Itawamba Agricultural Indians are taking a road trip to take on the Wheeler Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Itawamba Agricultural sitting on six straight victories and Wheeler on three.

Itawamba Agricultural is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 79-44 win over Okolona. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Indians had established a 28 point advantage.

Meanwhile, Wheeler narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Falkner 67-64.

Wheeler is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.8 points per game. As for Itawamba Agricultural, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Itawamba Agricultural was able to grind out a solid win over Wheeler in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, winning 33-24. The rematch might be a little tougher for Itawamba Agricultural since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
