Basketball Recap: Calhoun Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Calhoun unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. The match between them and the Webster County Highlanders didn't end well, with the Calhoun Red Devils falling 50-31. If the Red Devils were looking for revenge after losing 83-48 to them when the teams met on Tuesday, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Calhoun's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Baron Davis, who posted 18 points, and Micah Allen, who earned five points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Allen a new career-high in points.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calhoun will host Gilmer County at 7:00 p.m. on December 18th. As for Webster County, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Roane County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
