Basketball Recap: Bastrop Victorious

Bastrop won the last time they faced Sterlington and things went their way on Friday too. The Bastrop Rams came out on top against the Sterlington Panthers by a score of 77-70. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.

Bastrop had a senior duo take command as Lebron Deal went 11 for 20 to rack up 35 points and four steals and Antron Mason II went 11 of 18 en route to 34 points and five steals. Mason II is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Devin Tyson was another key player, putting up five points and ten boards.

Despite the loss, Sterlington still got an impressive performance from Cooper Nelson, who went 10 of 22 on his way to 33 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Devin Cooper, who posted five points and four steals.

Bastrop's victory bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Sterlington, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-15 record this season.

Looking ahead, Bastrop will be playing in front of their home fans against Carroll at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sterlington, they will head out on the road to face off against Richwood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
