Baseball Game Preview: Foothill Knights vs. Mater Dei Monarchs

The Foothill Knights will challenge the Mater Dei Monarchs at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Foothill is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past San Clemente 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Knights, who have now won three contests in a row.

The team relied heavily on Ezekiel Vargas, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Jaxon Foshay also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Mater Dei waltzed into their match on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Pioneers.

Foothill's record now sits at 19-11. As for Mater Dei, their record is now 17-13.
