Newton-Conover had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Lake Norman Charter Knights by a score of 4-2 on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but Newton-Conover sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Josue Macias-Sevilla and D'Alessandro Chavez-Hernandez scored all four of Newton-Conover's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 25 goals.

Newton-Conover's victory bumped their record up to 21-1-3. As for Lake Norman Charter, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13-1 record this season.
