Byron Nelson is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Northwest: they outscored them in every quarter. The Bobcat blew past the Texans 54-34 on Friday. Given the Bobcat's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Texans are ranked 1270th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bell has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 63-57 heartbreaker at the hands of Southlake Carroll.

Bell's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Byron Nelson, their victory bumped their record up to 12-10.

Byron Nelson didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Bell in their previous meeting back in January of 2025, but they still walked away with a 53-47 win. Will the Bobcat repeat their success, or do the Blue Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
