Baseball Recap: McNary Victorious

While McNary's win against Cleveland wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Celtics skirted past the Warriors 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Celtics have posted since May 20, 2024.

Holtohn Ritchey made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Ritchey was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. That stolen base was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaden Leduc, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kyle Wilson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

The win made it two in a row for McNary and bumps their season record up to 2-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Cleveland, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, McNary will challenge Franklin at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Celtics are on a three-game streak of home losses, and the Quakers a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck. Cleveland has already played their next contest (against Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
