Softball Game Preview: Oneida Express vs. Whitesboro Warriors

The Oneida Express are taking a road trip to take on the Whitesboro Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

While Oneida's victory against Vernon-Verona-Sherrill wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Express had just enough and edged out the Red Devils 9-7. The win continues a trend for the Express in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Whitesboro waltzed into their match on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Spartans 6-4. The game was the first time the Warriors have beaten the Spartans on their field since April 22, 2019.

Oneida's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Whitesboro, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Oneida suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Whitesboro in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Express avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
