Basketball Recap: Morgan Takes a Loss

Morgan played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Tri-Valley Scotties 67-32. The loss continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Scotties: they've now lost five in a row.

Morgan's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cole McGill, who posted eight points.

Even though they lost, Morgan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Morgan's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Tri-Valley, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4.

When Morgan and Tri-Valley next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Morgan will challenge Warren and their four-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Tri-Valley will try to stop Maysville's eight-game winning streak when the meet at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
