Football Recap: Calhoun City Beats Hamilton for Their Second Straight Win

If Hamilton wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Calhoun City, they should've done a better job of containing Harland Pittman. The Wildcats blew past the Lions 50-15 on Friday with plenty of help from Pittman, who rushed for 166 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries, and also threw for 160 yards and a pair of TDs on only nine passes. His longest rush was for an incredible 74 yards.

Although Hamilton took the loss, they still got scores from Tucker Stahl and Tez Danner.

The victory made it two in a row for Calhoun City and bumps their season record up to 5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 15 points in those games. As for Hamilton, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-2 record.

Calhoun City will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Okolona at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. The Chieftains will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. As for Hamilton, they have already played their next matchup, a 35-21 win against Vardaman on the 10th.
