Basketball Game Preview: Grundy Golden Wave vs. Rural Retreat Indians

The Grundy Golden Wave will take on the Rural Retreat Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Grundy is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Honaker last Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Grundy lost 64-38 to Honaker. The Golden Wave were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-12.

Meanwhile, it's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Rural Retreat can now relate to. They lost to the Tigers on the road by a 45-30 margin on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Rural Retreat's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Grundy, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.

Grundy didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Rural Retreat in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, but they still walked away with a 32-27 victory.
