Softball Recap: Bentonville West Falls Short Against Ranked Farmington

Bentonville West faced Farmington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Wolverines fell 7-4 to the Cardinals. The Wolverines haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Bentonville West got a good showing from Kendyl Jescheling, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Jescheling a new career-low.

On the hitting side, Eva Riffe made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella McVey, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Bentonville West's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Farmington, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Bentonville West will face off against Sylvan Hills at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Farmington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
