Basketball Game Preview: Nandua Warriors vs. Pocomoke Warriors

Nandua just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome Pocomoke at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pocomoke took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Nandua, who comes in off a win.

Nandua took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 47-29 victory over Chincoteague. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Ponies recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Pocomoke ended up a good deal behind Cambridge-South Dorchester on Thursday and lost 44-30. The Warriors have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Nandua will have to contain Donyae Washington as she made an impact in Pocomoke's last game. She dropped a double-double with 12 points and 15 boards. Washington has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more rebounds the last 40 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alayah Thornton, who posted seven points.

Nandua's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Pocomoke, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.

Nandua came up short against Pocomoke when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 45-39. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Washington, who dropped a double-double with 25 points and 13 boards.
