Basketball Recap: Greenbrier Wolfpack vs. Evans Knights
After flying high against Silver Bluff last Friday, Greenbrier came back down to earth. The Greenbrier Wolfpack fell 60-48 to the Evans Knights on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Wolfpack can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while the Knights are ranked 57th).
Evans found their leader in sophomore Chabria Tate, who went 8 of 18 on her way to 27 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. The contest was Tate's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Deedee Brooks, who went 5 of 11 en route to 14 points and three steals.
Greenbrier's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Evans, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2.
