Baseball Recap: Halstead Comes Up Short

Halstead was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 13-6 to the Hesston Swathers. The Dragons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Swathers from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Leighton Siebert was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one triple, and one RBI. Those stolen bases marked the first that he snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Brock Odendahl, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Halstead's loss dropped their record down to 0-7-2. As for Hesston, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Swathers beat Halstead by a score of 7-6 later that day.
