Baseball Recap: Grossmont Foothillers vs. Helix Highlanders

Grossmont had lost five straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 9-15 to make it six. They lost 12-3 to the Helix Highlanders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Highlanders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 on Thursday.

Grossmont saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Tufugafale, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

As for Helix, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games.

On Helix's side, Matt Martinez looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Martinez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.
