Basketball Recap: Roanoke Rapids Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Roanoke Rapids and South Granville squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Roanoke Rapids had to settle for second. They lost 73-51 to the South Granville Vikings. The Yellowjackets haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Granville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mason Brown, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 16 boards. KJ Terry was another key player, dropping a double-double with 22 points and 13 rebounds.

Roanoke Rapids' defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for South Granville, they pushed their record up to 23-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Roanoke Rapids does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Granville, they will square off against Northwood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwood will roll in looking for their 16th straight win, something South Granville surely won't give up without a fight.
