Baseball Recap: Cripple Creek-Victor Comes Up Short

Cripple Creek-Victor was the 5-1 winner over Custer County when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Pioneers lost 22-4 to the Bobcats on Tuesday. The Pioneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chase Renner was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in five of his seven plate appearances with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Brandon Witt was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

Cripple Creek-Victor's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Custer County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season.

Cripple Creek-Victor wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 16-1 defeat against Evangel Christian Academy on the 24th. As for Custer County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-8 loss against Elbert on the 24th.
