Basketball Recap: Providence Classical Piles Up the Points Against Hawthorne Christian Academy

Providence Classical was handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Hawthorne Christian Academy on Monday. The Providence Classical Paladins claimed a resounding 63-27 win over the Hawthorne Christian Academy Hawks. The Paladins pushed the score to 54-25 by the end of the third, a deficit the Hawks had little chance of recovering from.

Providence Classical found their leader in freshman Malachi Thompson, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thompson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Grafton Eiff, who posted ten points along with six assists and six steals.

The victory got Providence Classical back to even at 2-2. As for Hawthorne Christian Academy, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Providence Classical didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-49 win against HOPE Academy on the 5th. As for Hawthorne Christian Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Providence Classical at 6:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
