West Scranton is headed into Saturday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They came up short against Wallenpaupack Area, falling 15-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Invaders have suffered against the Buckhorns since April 5, 2022.

Riverside's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Old Forge on Friday. The Vikings' pitcher stepped up to hand Western Wayne a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Vikings have won five contests by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Connor McNally made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cooper Borowski, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Jose Sosa was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Riverside pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for West Scranton, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
West Scranton was able to grind out a solid victory over Riverside in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 6-3. Do the Invaders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
