Softball Recap: Wingate Takes a Loss

Wingate and Robertson squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Wingate had to settle for second. They came up short against the Cardinals, falling 15-2. The Bears were not able to make up for their loss to the Cardinals from their previous meeting back in March of 2016.

Wingate has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season. As for Robertson, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-13.

Wingate does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Robertson, they will challenge St. Michael's at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cardinals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Horsemen have averaged an impressive 11.6 runs per game this season.
