Basketball Recap: Aztec Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Aztec was the 32-31 winner over Grants when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers fell 44-40 to the Pirates on Tuesday. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Aztec still got an impressive performance from Jazzlyn Gomez, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 steals. Gomez's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alisia Valerio, who posted seven points and six boards.

Aztec's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Grants, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-3.

Aztec wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 51-4 victory against Greyhills Academy on the 18th. As for Grants, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-49 win against Durango on the 18th.
