Putnam Valley had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Hastings Yellow Jackets 10-0 on Tuesday. Considering the Tigers have won 12 matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Eli Pierce tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sean Carroll was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Aaron Pierre was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

The victory (which was Putnam Valley's fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-4. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 6.5 runs. As for Hastings, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-10.

As of now, neither Putnam Valley nor the Yellow Jackets have any future games scheduled.
