Football Recap: Lakewood Piles Up the Points Against Compton

Lakewood got themselves on the board against Compton on Friday, but Compton never followed suit. They blew past the Tarbabes, posting a 31-0 victory. That looming 31-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Lancers yet this season.

Kade Casillas had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 255 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushing for 70 yards on only six carries.

Lakewood's run defense was locked in: Compton could only muster two yards per carry. The Lancers didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.1.

Lakewood now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Compton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Lakewood will square off against Long Beach Poly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Jackrabbits will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last. As for Compton, they will take on Cabrillo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tarbabes will be up against the Jaguars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 45 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
