Football Recap: Rock Ridge Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Rock Ridge extended their losing streak to nine on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-9. They were beaten by the Heritage Pride 45-0. While losing is never fun, the Phoenix can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 318th, while the Pride are ranked 152nd).

Xavier Smith threw for 79 yards on five of 17 attempts. David Lassissi was his top target, picking up 79 receiving yards. On the ground, Lucious Taet rushed for 33 yards.

As for Heritage, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-3. Considering they have won four games by more than 19 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

It was another big night for Reed Alexander, who rushed for 113 yards and two touchdowns. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 113 rushing yards. Brady Crimmins was in the mix as well, providing Heritage with two TDs.

Rock Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Heritage, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 35-0 defeat against Loudoun County on the 7th.
