Volleyball Recap: Charley Wilson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sterling City over Miles

After flying high against Christoval on Saturday, Sterling City came back down to earth. The Eagles came up short against the Miles Bulldogs on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Eagles have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Sterling City took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-19, 25-22.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Charley Wilson, who had 12 digs and 11 kills. Wilson has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more kills the last 13 times she's played. Kambri McCabe was another key player, getting 21 digs and one assist.

Sterling City's defeat dropped their record down to 18-14. As for Miles, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-12.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Sterling City will square off against rival Reagan County at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Miles is set to challenge their familiar foe Forsan at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
