Bunn proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by three) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a set and slipped past the Southern Nash Firebirds 3-2. The victory was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on six straight.
Bunn wouldn't go down easily and took Southern Nash into a fifth set where they got it done with a nine-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-10, 23-25, 25-21, 15-6.
Laney Mullen paced Bunn's offense, picking up 19 kills. Mullen got some help from Maycey Buchanan and her 34 assists. Payton Wood controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.
Despite the loss, Southern Nash saw an underclassman step up: freshman Addison Spivey had 16 digs.
Bunn's win bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Southern Nash, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 14-1.
