Baseball Game Preview: Williams Bulldogs vs. Eastern Guilford Wildcats

The Williams Bulldogs will head out to face off against the Eastern Guilford Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Eastern Guilford took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Williams, who comes in off a win.

On Thursday, Williams got the win against Caldwell Academy by a conclusive 12-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Vince Coker was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Williams got a big performance out of Aiden Pulliam, who scored two runs while going 2-for-5. Another player making a difference was Will Allen, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Eastern Guilford fell victim to Southern Alamance and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 19-0 to the Patriots. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Eastern Guilford's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Williams, their record is now 2-0.

Everything went Williams' way against Eastern Guilford in their previous meeting back in April of 2021, as Williams made off with a 10-0 victory. Will Williams repeat their success, or does Eastern Guilford have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
