Basketball Recap: Raleigh-Egypt Takes a Loss

Raleigh-Egypt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 64-55 to the Covington Chargers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Pharaohs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Raleigh-Egypt's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Covington, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Raleigh-Egypt will take on Brighton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Covington, they will square off against Munford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Munford is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 68.2 points per game this season.
