Softball Recap: La Marque Comes Up Short

The La Marque Cougars lost 18-8 to the Almeta Crawford Chargers on Tuesday. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Anaiyah Joseph and Kamori Walker stepped up to the plate in a big way. Joseph scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Walker scored two runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Walker has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Alexa Loubet was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Even though they lost, La Marque always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .583 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

La Marque's record now sits at 4-11. As for Almeta Crawford, their record is now 2-4.

Looking ahead, La Marque will head out to take on Stafford at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. La Marque has given up an average of 13.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Almeta Crawford, they will welcome Royal at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
