Softball Recap: Goldsboro Takes a Loss

Goldsboro lost against Spring Creek back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Goldsboro fell just short of Spring Creek by a score of 13-12. Even if the Cougars couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Goldsboro is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4. As for Spring Creek, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

Goldsboro didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-1 victory against Southern Wayne on the 31st. As for Spring Creek, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Beddingfield at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Beddingfield has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.29 runs per game on average), something Spring Creek will no doubt try to take advantage of.
