Baseball Recap: Lucy Beckham Comes Up Short

Lucy Beckham lost against Stratford last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Bengals took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The Bengals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Levi Srock was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Lucy Beckham saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Roggin, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Roggin has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Kingston Kolb was another, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Lucy Beckham's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Stratford, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-2-2.

While Lucy Beckham had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
