Basketball Recap: Dillon Finds Playoff Glory Versus Oceanside Collegiate Academy

It's playoff time, and Dillon had no trouble coming through when it counted. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Oceanside Collegiate Academy Landsharks 59-57. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since January 30, 2024.

Leading Dillon to victory were Treasure Davis and Khwnylahi Mckinnon. Davis dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten boards, while Mckinnon went 10-for-24 to rack up 23 points and five steals. Davis' big performance that afternoon made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayonna Lester, who posted five points in addition to six assists and six steals.

Dillon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points over those games. With the defeat, Oceanside Collegiate Academy broke their nine-game winning streak and moved their record to 22-6.

Looking ahead, Dillon will face off against Walhalla at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Walhalla will roll in looking for their 20th straight win, something Dillon surely won't give up without a fight. Oceanside Collegiate Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
