Softball Preview: Fort Lupton Bluedevils vs. Weld Central Rebels
Fort Lupton and Weld Central are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2017, but likely not for long. The Fort Lupton Bluedevils will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Weld Central Rebels at 11:00 a.m.
Last Tuesday, Fort Lupton didn't have quite enough to beat Centaurus and fell 8-7.
Meanwhile, Weld Central came into Thursday's game having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Thompson Valley 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rebels have posted since September 15, 2023.
Jordin Sifuentes made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up eight earned runs off nine hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
