Carl Hayden Community only won by two when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 35-point they dealt the Lions on Friday. Carl Hayden Community blew past the Lions 80-45 on the road. Given Carl Hayden Community's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Lions are ranked 320th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Camelback pushed their record up to 14-7 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points per game. As for Carl Hayden Community, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 16-8 record this season.
Camelback and the Falcons were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup last Thursday, but the Spartans came up empty-handed after a 64-63 defeat. Can Camelback avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
